March 28, 2018

We took Larry, Linda's brother, for lunch at the Brasstown Resort and to Brasstown Bald, which is the highest point in Georgia.  Normally, spectacular views but, today, not so much!  The top of the mountain was blanketed in clouds.  Did I mention cold and windy?

The first picture begs the question, "Am I shooting up the road or am I shooting down the road."

'Believe it or not,' the two pictures from Brasstown Bald are in color.  They look as though they are black and white photos, but they are not.

The photo of the waterfalls in from the outflow from the lake at Vogel State Park, which, as many time that I have driven over Blood Mountain, I had never noticed.  It was taken from the roadside and only noticed it due to no foliage.  Normally, one is watching the curvy road and the the foliage hide the falls.

There are steps and an observation deck from which to view the falls from the bottom.

March 26, 2018

We have had a treat this past weekend.  Linda's brother, Larry, came to visit us from New Hampshire.  Unfortunately, our Sister-In-Law, Kathy could not make it due to work.  We went to Gibbs Garden and the daffodils seem to be on the down side, but the tulip were doing great.  There are about 30000 tulips there.

There are a couple of non-flowers shots.  The cat hunting and Linda and Larry.

March 18, 2018

The weather this Spring has been up and down.  We have had temperatures ranging from the 20s to the 70s in February, many cloudy days and much rain.  All of this is fine compared to weather reports from around the nation.

It has affected the early flowers.  Last year flowers were stunning and this year they are good, but not as past years.  I did get to go to Gibbs Gardens yesterday and see the daffodils and tulips.

Here is a sampling.

March 13, 2018

There is the small town of Ballground, about 8 miles from our home, on the way to parts of north Georgia that has had a revitalization in the downtown.

Previously, it was noted as that place that has all those pieces of marble slabs, permeated many storefronts and parking lots.  Not any more.  There are many eateries and little shops to enjoy.  The slabs of concrete sidewalks have been replaced with brick pavers and shabby old windows have been installed in a number of storefronts.

The picture of the the bus is a new restaurant called The Burger Bus, which is a retired electric cable bus from Atlanta; #1836.

The last picture is for those up north...  Spring is coming to you also.  This daffodil is in our backyard.  Not to be compared with Gibbs Garden, which has over 2 million in bloom.

March 10, 2018

It has been over a month since the last posting.  I did not take many pictures while my computer was being repaired for two reasons.  I could not process them and the weather has been less than desirable.  I did take some and the following are a sampling.

The first two are of plates that Linda has hanging on the wall.  I laid them flat and put water in the plate, along with some cooking oil.

The next two are of one of the horse over our back fence and the shed was along side of a road not far from our home.

Lastly, this is Jack.  It was taken after one of the baseball games for the Forsyth Central Freshmen Baseball Team.  The Bulldogs!

p.s. They won!
